I got a Jackson 5 CD for Christmas, and it includes this, my current favorite (though it’s technically a Michael Jackson song, not Jackson 5).

Two things I know to be true:
1) 32 year old men with limited musical talent can’t sing the same notes as pre-teen Michael Jackson (especially true of the chorus of this song, skip ahead to the 1:10 mark – I get some pretty strange looks from other drivers when I contort my face in order to hit those notes).

2) The person who selected Michael’s outfit for that American Bandstand performance has a sick sense of humor.

New Sheriff in Town

Salads don’t take long enough to eat. Consequently, I end up trying to find other things to do with the rest of my lunch hour. So today, I checked my to-do list. It contained twenty-something productive things, and one very non-productive thing. If you’re reading ahead, you see that little cartoon there. That wasn’t the non-productive thing. That’s just a product of how hard I try to avoid being productive on a lunch break. The one non-productive thing was to replace the ninja on my site. See, the old ninja, though he served me well for 2+ years, was not mine. It’s one of the Wee Ninjas created by this guy named Shawn. And though I’ve credited him in the past (a long time ago), I always felt like I was stealing that image. Mainly because I was. I was totally comfortable with that, but it came to my attention a while ago that someone thought I created it. That made me feel like a liar. So I wanted to change the ninja.

So today on lunch, I changed the ninja, and checked that item off my list. Which, I guess, means I was being productive. Crap.

Anyway, I think me and the new guy are going to get along OK. As you can see from the sequence below, we have similar concerns. (Click to make it bigger.)

Back on Wednesday morning, I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress. This morning, I’m skimming my feed reader while devouring a bowl of Chocolate Chex. I see a post over at Nobo’s blog indicating that she was unable to leave a comment here. It turns out that the upgrade broke my blog, and nobody could leave a comment here. So, in the event that you attempted to leave a comment here, but you were unable to do so because my blog was broken, but because I don’t have an email address posted on this blog and because you don’t know my phone number, you were unable to let me know that you couldn’t comment on the blog, which caused you to become mildly depressed, leading to problems at work and/or at home and made you turn all Emo and gave you thoughts of cutting yourself, I’m sorry. The problem is fixed now.
