3313 – Number of photos kept from 2009 (so far), not counting cell phone pictures. This number includes:

1260 – Approximate number of photos including the girl taken in 2009
910 – Approximate number of photos including the boy taken in 2009
315 – Approximate number of photos including the wife taken in 2009

10 – Months since I went on Craigslist and bought myself a guitar.
lots – Number of hours I spent playing the guitar between late February and May.
not enough – Number of hours I spent playing the guitar between June and December.

5 – Age my boy turned in 2009. I’m the parent of a kid in kindergarten! I still can’t believe it, sometimes. I started blogging when he was 5 months old.

1 – Age my girl turned in 2009. And after a nice calm stretch, she’s starting to exhibit some “terrible two” behavior. Which means the “vasectomy-inducing threes” are right around the corner.

40.6 – “Official” number of pounds I lost in 2009. I don’t mean to keep blabbing about that, but I’m pretty pleased. Still some work to be done, though.

2 – Number of times I went to the movie theater in 2009. Both times, I saw “Up.”

0 – Number of times I left the state of New York in 2009. Kinda sad. I’ll see what I can do about that next year.

27 – Number of new blog posts I published in 2009 (including this one). That’s embarrassing. Jon, Cadiz, and Syar posted more than that in November alone. But at least I beat Becky.

3 – Length, in days, of my daughter’s birthday.

57 – Number of remaining square feet of floor space in my house after her parties.

1 – Number of new guitars I got for my birthday from my awesome in-laws.

1000 – Approximate number of hours I’ve spent playing it. You’d think I’d be good by now.

2 – Days we participated in my neighborhood’s annual garage sale.

4 – Moist dollars I received from out of a gross lady’s bra. [shudder]

43 – Dollars of change requested by the lady who only had a $50 bill on her.

1,000,000 – Grossly exaggerated number of dollars received for our junk at the garage sale. I thought about getting all Scrooge McDuck and swimming around in the sea of dollar bills, but then I remembered the bra lady. [re-shudder]

32 – Approximate number of gray hairs I counted in my facial hair alone.

32 – Years since the Wooley v. Maynard decision, when the Supreme Court ruled that people can refuse to display their state’s motto on their license plate(s).

32 – Number of years old Sarah Michelle Gellar turns today. Happy birthday, Sarah Michelle!

32 – Number of years old I turn today.

33.3 – Percentage increase in the size of my family in 2008. Obviously, the birth of my daughter was the most notable item for me last year.

4 – Months it took before we were all used to each other.

5 – Months it took before we all liked each other (I’m mostly kidding).

4552 – Photos I took between The Girl’s arrival in April and New Year’s Eve, not counting those taken with my cell phone.

370 – Photos from 2008 before her arrival that I kept (I switched both cameras and photo storage disks in there, so I can’t get a good count of how many I took for the entire year).

1 – Promotions I got at work.
1 – Apple pie making contests I won.
1 – Holiday cookie contests I entered, but didn’t win.
1 – iPhones that came into my life.

2 – Bloggers I met in person! High five, Cadiz! High five, Jon!
2 – Photos I got published in a local coffee table-style photography book.

7 – Approximate number of boxes of waffle mix/Bisquick I’ve gone through since the Wife got me a waffle maker for my birthday.

4 – Age my boy turned in 2008. Not that I ever want to wish away time when it comes to my kids, but let’s just say I’m not that sad to see him be done with being 3.

6 – Times I got out to the golf course last year. I remember my scores, too. I wonder what sort of things got pushed out of my brain so that I could retain golf scores?

84 – My best 18-hole score last season.

17 – difference in pounds between my lightest weight of the year and my heaviest. It’s a bit misleading though, because I lost 12 pounds when I was deathly ill in February.

9 – Days this post sat in my drafts folder. The main reason? Because I forgot to publish it. Good thing my 2008 resolution is to get more organized, right? (That was not a typo.)
