Welcome to Say What? Here’s how you play the game:
(1) Figure out what the crap Omar’s kid is saying (if your browser doesn’t use Flash, click the clip headings to hear each clip).
(2) Leave your guess in the text field next to each clip.
(3) Identify yourself in the “your name” box, so I know who to ridicule praise.
(4) Click “Go!”
I originally composed this post with 7 audio clips, but I thought two of them were prohibitively hard. And while I’m not looking to make it easy, I’m not trying to take the fun out of it, either. Besides, 7 is an awkward number.

My sister did a post like this once, and even though it was of my own nephew, I was terrible at it. The only ones I knew were the ones I’d heard him say in person, and then received translation of. So yeah. I think I might have gotten one right. But that’s it.
And for what it’s worth, she absolutely sounds adorable.

Man that number four was HARD! I have no idea! That was fun:) Hit me with your best shot!

Man I wanna see NOBODYs answers
October 14th, 2009
I’m not sure if I got them all, but I am pretty sure I got a couple of them…

She sounds so adorable!

Wow! Number 3 was hard! I might have gotten 3 of them right but I’m not sure about 3 and 4.

Nailed it!!! No question about it! I got 100%… wrong. I am a terrible baby translator. This sucks because I already had “The Baby Whisperer” printed on all 16,000 of my business cards. I guess I’ll just white out the w,p and last r in whisperer. Most people will have to look up the definition of ere, but that will just add to the mystery. Should give me time to figure out what that means. I’ve got work to do.

Oh yeah, I may have answered this twice. I think my answers were pretty similar though, so they’ll probably score about the same. My bad.

16 responses. Multiple people got clips 2, 3, and 5 correct. One person got clip 1 and 4, and it happens to be the baby’s mama (but the wife missed #2, so even she didn’t get all of them right).
Most entertaining* incorrect answers so far:
#1: Bad ass
#2: Chinese
#3: Ride Low, Jello, Waldo
#4: Give me your wallet
#5: Eff it
* Entertaining, if you ignore the fact that you all think I’m raising my daughter to be a foul-mouthed criminal.

i kind of like the fake answers. not that the girl isn’t entertaining, of course.

******ANSWERS******
#1 was apparently a bit difficult, as only the wife got it right.
1) Band Aid
2) Sandwich
3) Rhino
4) I don’t know
5) Elephant
Top scorers:
The Wife: 4
Cadiz12: 3
S: 3
(lots with 2)
Though S and cadiz tied, cadiz gets the win because she was the only one other than the wife to get #4. Though maybe she didn’t know the answer, and ended up getting that one right by just being honest. Not sure which.
Top Guesses:
1) Brothers
2) Sandwich
3) Yellow
4) I love you
5) Outfit

What the heck is THAT! A tie is a tie is a tie is a tie. I am getting a lawyer! We are all still saying #4 around her exactly like girl. Due to the high volume of times listening to it.

Well, looks like I have no choice but to retire from the toddler translation business. I’m just not cut out for this kind of work.

November 9th, 2009
hooray! i knew all that babysitting was going to come in handy one day! and for the record, “I don’t know” was my guess at what she said.
November 16th, 2009
