- For the first time in the history of the world, I correctly picked the four Final Four teams in the NCAA basketball tournament. Then like an hour later, Tiger Woods made a 16 foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. That’s the good news. The bad news is that I didn’t bet any money on either.

- I had set out some traps because of the increased vole activity in and around my garage. For two and a half weeks, I had traps set out with peanut butter for bait, but they just sat there. This morning, I put a small piece of leftover colby jack cheese in a trap before going to work. I returned 8 hours later to find one deceased rodent. Which leads me to ask, what’s wrong with peanut butter? It’s not like it was cheap store brand, it was Peter Pan!

- Apple released an update for iLife ’09 last week, it fixed a couple of my complaints about iPhoto. So never mind how I used to refer to the “faces” feature as “feces.” It’s still not great, but it’s way better.

- I’m watching American Idol right now, for the first time this season. Through two performances, I’m just about ready to vomit.

- I’m going to do another photo assignment ASAP. If there’s enough participation, maybe I’ll do that requested guitar video. While wearing a sweater vest. And singing.

- Just kidding about the vest and the singing.

I would have held out for the cheese too. But then, that’s just the type of girl I am….

  2. Heffalump Says:

If I were a vole, I would wait for some cheese, and crackers, and maybe a little hickory farms beef stick.

Was the peanut butter chunky or creamy? Maybe that had something to do with it. Maybe voles don’t like their mouths to get stuck shut…

Maybe some of your famous pie would catch a whole party of voles.

  4. Becky Says:

AI last night was spectacularly bad – there have been some great performances so far this season, but there were only a couple last night. sorry you had to catch it on the night when the theme was “songs that sound like poop”…

Becks: That Kris fellow at the end was pretty good. I was ready to criticize, because I was sure he’d screw up a Bill Withers classic, and I LOVE BILL WITHERS (not as much as I love Tiger Woods, but that’s not relevant). But he was pretty good. If I was a teenage girl, I would have texted in a vote for him.

  6. Lauren Says:

I will really participate in the photo assignment this time. I won’t be lamespice.

Peter Pan peanut butter sucks. Buy Skippy!

  7. No Cool Story Says:

    Is this 4T 1L?
    I vote you watching AI.

(I am still on a break)

I am SO IMPRESSED with your final four picks–face it, they were unusual picks. Good luck to Michigan State. (When I watched the news on Friday or Saturday they were talking about how poorly Tiger was doing–he sure showed them, eh)

I have been debating about iLife for some time. I don’t know if I would like to group my photos by “faces”. Do you group them by faces and by subject???

  10. Nobo Says:

I actually know a little about voles, although we call them “field mice” in our neck of the woods. That makes them seem so much more cute and fluffy. I picture “vole” as something like a ferret on a bad LSD trip.

But, what I do know about them:
They can smell salmonella from a mile away.

You picked the wrong lent to give up gambling! I don’t even know how to participate in an NCAA Tourney without some sort of financial commitment. I was doing pretty good through the sweet sixteen, but it started to crumble at eight and took a full nose dive at the final four. So I’m refocusing my gambling on Monday and my fantasy baseball team. Here’s hoping to a career year for Milton Bradley! And by that I mean I hope he doesn’t beat up any fans, family members or otherwise injure himself.

what kind of creature doesn’t like peanut butter? THE EVIL KIND.

  13. Crissie Says:

    Hi Omar!
I want to introduce myself…I’m Crissie. I make regular blog stops at a couple of the places you do and I see your comments. I just spent about an hour reading your blog and I LOVE it! Thanks for the entertainment.

I do not like American Idol. Sei records it because he is so manly like that.

I can’t believe you picked the final 4. I only got one team right. Freakin’ Duke. Hmmph.

  15. nancy face Says:

Oh, gee! Just as I was getting filled with excitement, I read THIS:

“Just kidding about the vest and the singing.”

  16. nancy face Says:

I guess I’d make a crummy rodent. I like peanut butter, but it MUST be the crunchy kind.

Did you use creamy? Because that would explain a lot.

  17. Rhonda Says:

I’m with Nobo. I think your voles are smart enough to avoid Peter Pan after the whole salmonella incident.

So what happened to getting an owl? That seemed like a really good idea.

  18. Christian Says:

You should invest in a teradactyl.

  19. Rhonda Says:

I’ve been thinking about your photo assignment … and since I never actually do those (maybe one?) … I suggest a music quiz instead. That would better compliment your guitar video.

  20. aubrey Says:

ditto your sentiments of american idol.

  21. aubrey Says:

and i LOOOVE your photo assignments. bring it on.

  22. Emily Says:

I tried to get into Idol this season, but seriously, none of the contestants do it for me this time.
