Salads don’t take long enough to eat. Consequently, I end up trying to find other things to do with the rest of my lunch hour. So today, I checked my to-do list. It contained twenty-something productive things, and one very non-productive thing. If you’re reading ahead, you see that little cartoon there. That wasn’t the non-productive thing. That’s just a product of how hard I try to avoid being productive on a lunch break. The one non-productive thing was to replace the ninja on my site. See, the old ninja, though he served me well for 2+ years, was not mine. It’s one of the Wee Ninjas created by this guy named Shawn. And though I’ve credited him in the past (a long time ago), I always felt like I was stealing that image. Mainly because I was. I was totally comfortable with that, but it came to my attention a while ago that someone thought I created it. That made me feel like a liar. So I wanted to change the ninja.
So today on lunch, I changed the ninja, and checked that item off my list. Which, I guess, means I was being productive. Crap.
Anyway, I think me and the new guy are going to get along OK. As you can see from the sequence below, we have similar concerns. (Click to make it bigger.)

yeah, that’s totally as productive as the online sudoku i did for two hours earlier today, only i was maybe not on my lunch hour, and i was maybe totally sucking payroll while doing it…
he’s a cute little guy, though. but that neonazi lady looks like she’s pissed.

I like the new guy and as a self proclaimed ninja aficionado, I think I know what the crap I’m talking about.
See, if you take a close look at the scene, you’ll notice that the thug still had the safety on, not to mention his finger wasn’t even on the trigger! So the “victim” in this case wasn’t really in any danger. The real danger in that scenario was the defenseless lawn. Well played suburban juggernaut, well played.
